This month’s edition features an interview with Sera Beak, author of The Red Book: A Deliciously Unorthodox Approach to Igniting Your Divine Spark.
Sera is a Harvard-trained scholar of comparative world religions who’s spent the past 14 years traveling the world studying spirituality. This spiritual cowgirl has a forthcoming book, Redvolution: A Red Hot and Holy Love Story, and she is director of the upcoming feature film also entitled Redvolution.
Sera and I chat about authentic intentions and the shadow side to spiritual truth. She shares what I have deemed her “energy detox plan” and some rituals to help you get through break-ups.
She asks you to consider “What is it that really brings me to life and what is it that makes me contract?” and to question your most intimate relationship: “What is it for you right now?”
This interview is, by far, the most vulnerable and heart-open conversation I’ve had with any of my guests. Sera spoke with me from within the “red tent,” a term she uses to imply disconnecting from the majority of her regular, social life in service of re-connecting to her self, her purpose and her heart.
“The necessity for me to go through breaking my heart open to the divine that is me, and that is bigger than me, is already affecting my personal relationships,” she says, “but I know I’m still in process…”
I think you will find that much of our conversation about her experiences will resonate with your own.
Dare to love,
